Meet the experienced team working out of our smart new practice
Specology Eye Care centre was established at the beginning of 2012 and was completely refurbished at the start of 2014. Our customers enjoy our smart, new facilities while benefiting from the skills our optical staff have built up over decades of experience. Read on to meet the team:
MSc, Bsc (hons)
Hello, I am the owner of Specology Eye Care Centre after opening our doors back in January 2012.
Daily I’m in the practice managing reception, helping with dispensing and looking after customers but I also look after the admin side of running the practice, the paperwork and the accounts.
As the business owner my enjoyment comes from knowing that my patients are happy. My favourite time is when I receive an email or someone pops in to tell me who much they like their new glasses, or how helpful my staff have been. Once someone told me that their eye test with us had saved their sight. That was an incredibly special day for me.
Bsc (Hons) FCOptom
Hello, my name is April and I’ve been an Optometrist at Specology Eye Care Centre since November 2012.
During the day, I generally spend my time examining my patients eyes and advising them about contact lenses. After 36 years in optics, I still have a special interest in helping those with more serious vision problems.
My favourite part of my job is the interaction with patients. The job satisfaction in caring for my patients and helping them to achieve best vision and eye health.
Jane Bridgland and Tracy Weaver
Optical AssistantsWe look after reception, making sure that patients are comfortable when they come in for their sight tests and completing the paperwork. We do minor repairs on glasses, replacing nose pads and screws and giving our patients’ glasses a general service. We assist with dispensing and give our honest opinion to patients when they are choosing a frame.
Jane – “I love helping people to choose a frame that they look fantastic in.”
Tracy – “I get a lot of satisfaction in helping behind the scenes ensuring that our record keeping and reminder processes are running well as this helps to ensure that every thing goes smoothly in the clinics.”
